LIFE UpcyclingGrass

Latvia’s many natural grasslands often produce surplus cut grass, a valuable biomass that frequently goes unused, either because it’s unsuitable for fodder or due to excess availability in certain years. However, mowing is essential for the health of these meadows. The LIFE UpcyclingGrass project aims to find innovative solutions for utilizing this cut grass by creating added value and ensuring the sustainable management of natural grasslands. Drawing on global and European experiences and consulting with various manufacturers, we propose processing the biomass into diverse products. This project will lay the groundwork for producing valuable products from natural grass biomass.
