The Latvian Fund for Nature thanks all donors, whose support enables us to provide bird livestreams! Donations for the livestreams can be made here or via Mobilly!

The cage we are watching is located in Durbe parish. The live broadcast started on February 26, 2026. This year, thanks to the cooperation with “Sadales tīkls”, in addition to the white stork, a new live broadcast has been created for the peregrine falcon – this is the second camera in Latvia whose technical system is installed on an active power line support, providing a unique opportunity to observe this species directly in its natural environment.

The Falco tinnunculus is a specially protected species in Latvia. A close migrant that winters in Western Europe. It returns to Latvia at the end of March. The nest usually contains 3-8 eggs. The eggs are incubated for 28 days. Egg laying usually occurs from the end of April to the end of May. The chicks are ringed from June 20 to July 20. It feeds on small rodents (mice, shrews), lizards, large insects – beetles and dragonflies, and other small animals. More about the species here.

The camera system was created and deployed by Aigars Kalvāns and Jānis Ķuze.
