The nature observation portal, Dabasdati.lv, invites everyone to share their encounters in nature by reporting sightings of wild plants, animals, and other organisms. Each entry is mapped accurately to locations across Latvia, allowing the data to be valuable for scientific research.

Even reports of common species are valuable when consistently recorded across various locations and times. Through Dabasdati.lv, new populations of rare species have been discovered, interesting phenological patterns noted, and contributors with notable photographs identified.

Dabasdati.lv was established in 2008 by two non-governmental nature conservation organizations: the Latvian Fund for Nature and the Latvian Ornithological Society.
