The action aims to provide 300 ha of improved Bittern habitat in Lake Engure in the area that is currently hardly overgrown with uniform reed and totally dry, thus not suitable for Bittern. It is planned to construct the complex of shallow and deeper ditches with sloping edges, patches of open water in different sizes that are mixed with reed stands.
