E.2. Public awareness work with local stakeholders – Engure

The main task of this action is to introduce the Bittern, element of the invisible biodiversity, explain the linkage between species of EU importance (Bittern) and the well-being of the ecosystem in general and thus gain the local support and demand for ecosystem services and to raise the local awareness about nature values in the lake Engure. It is planned that during the project diferent activities will be organized:

  • 3 work camps
  • 6 school excursions
  • 20 school events
  • 4 local meetings
  • 2500 visitor maps produced
  • At least one meeting per year will be organized with the reed cutters
